Safety - Justice - Accountability - for the Community

  • Justice is What Love Looks Like in Public

Since January 1, 2021 I’ve been honored to work hard every day as your elected District Attorney.  Our election was a historic win so many ways, but especially because YOU, the community used your voices and your votes for a new way for justice to be served in our circuit.

Being part of that campaign took courage, resilience, and a fervent commitment to justice. Being in this seat has taken that and more. Taking on the status quo is never easy, but you make it worth each and every battle that we fight. Thank you for believing in this movement, and thank you for believing in me.

The first election victory would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of activists, local organizers, community leaders, and our hundreds of volunteers who believed a healthier, safer, and more equitable system of justice is possible.

This next election will require even more of the same.  Are you ready?  They are doing everything they can so we don’t even make it to the election. They tried that before and we won 5 times in the courts, all the way up to the GA Supreme Court.

I won’t give up on my community and I know my community will not give up on me – doesn’t matter the bullies, the shenanigans, all they throw at us.  We are strong, we are many, and we are on the right side of history.

    Let’s go!!!

  • Resilience and Grit

    Calling all Justice Warriors –

What does it take to stand as the only Latina DA, one of 6 newly elected WOC DA’s in Georgia, representing reform and change against the status quo?

    Resilience and grit.

I persist every day – because I know what it was like before I came to office.  The community knows.  And the community does not want to go back to that.

I also know what it can be – the reality of a system that holds people accountable fairly and justly – that conveys confidence and strength humanely and with empathy.

Compassion and accountability are not mutually exclusive.  We prove that every day in our work. It is a better way, a way for sustainable safety, for a thriving community.

But it can all be lost if we do not stick together and fight against those who refuse to give up power, who wish to continue to oppress those of us who are black, brown, and poor.

Resilience and grit. We will persevere. Join us today.
