Protect GA Voters Town Hall

November 18, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Mokah for Georgia Presents ‘Protect Georgia Votes’Community event will address election security and voters’ rights.

Athens, Georgia, November 18, 2019 – Mokah Jasmine Johnson announced she will hold a community forum on Monday, Nov. 18, 2019 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Athens-Clarke County Library to discuss ways to ensure election security and protect voters’ rights.

The event is in response to a plan by Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to remove approximately 315,000 people from the state’s voter-registration rolls. It also follows widespread allegations that Georgia Governor Brian Kemp used his former position as Secretary of State to disenfranchise Georgia voters during the 2018 election.
Guest speakers include Jesse Evans Athens Clarke County board of elections member and Adam Shirley member of Indivisible in addition to the screening of a new short documentary on the fight to vote in Georgia called “Suppressed” which focuses on the Stacey Abrams campaign and Kemp in 2018, and then discuss how to prepare for 2020 elections in Georgia and nationally.
